Before presenting an application for authorization, it is possible to reserve a name for a political party in writing. This step is not necessary for an application for authorization but is a prerogative that some parties avail themselves of.
This application is valid for a period of no more than six months.
A reserved name can be modified by a party during the application for authorization.
The name of the political party must not contain the word “independent” and must not be likely to mislead electors as to which party they are supporting. Before choosing the name of the party, it is recommended that you consult the list of authorized municipal political parties and the list of reserved names.
